LEARNING FROM DAY ONE

The learning process for me began on day one. During my introductory week, I had opportunities to find out lots more about the company while also getting to know other people on the programme, including my fellow apprentices and our trainers.

Since then, I have progressed through two eight-week rotations, which have enabled me to gain further insight into how the company works. I have also taken part in several “school blocks”, which is where you can pick up the theoretical knowledge to back up what you’re learning on the job. I’ve even had the chance to gain experience overseas, spending six weeks as part of our Credit Risk team in London. .

GAINING DEEP INSIGHT

I am currently in the middle of my long-term rotation, which I am spending as part of our Commercial Dispatch Gas team. The team manages all gas deals with the gas storage and gas network operators, and is responsible for keeping the portfolio in balance. It’s a great place to be if, like me, you want to get a deeper understanding of our day-to-day work and the different markets we operate in.
